Soul of Rwanda
About
Soul of Rwanda, founded and led by Senga Jean Baptiste and Migabo “Michael” Michel, is a non-profit organization based in Rubavu, Gisenyi, Rwanda. The organization supports impoverished, orphaned, and disabled children. Driven by their own experiences of hardship, Senga and Michael are dedicated to transforming the lives of the children and individuals they lead through acrobatics, music, circus arts, education, and healthcare.
Mission
The mission of Soul of Rwanda is to restore hope for Rwandan children by advocating for their rights, fostering positive behavioral change, and ensuring they grow up in safe and supportive families.
Objectives
Provide children with opportunities to leave the streets.
Empower individuals with disabilities.
Rehabilitate disadvantaged individuals through education and social integration.
Reunite families.
Support those at high risk of dropping out of school.
Promote positive behavioral changes to combat negative influences and prevent communicable diseases.
Provide basic healthcare with the goal of one day opening a community medical clinic.
Activities
Educational Programs & Workshops
Soul of Rwanda conducts regular academic classes, but also provides workshops in art, music, acrobatics, sports, and circus arts. These activities not only offer a creative outlet but also help in building essential life skills, confidence, and discipline among participants.
Support for Vulnerable Children
The group provides essential support to vulnerable children, including food, clothing, shoes, and school materials. This assistance helps address their daily needs and contributes to their overall well-being and educational success.
Promotion of Hygiene and Sanitation
Soul of Rwanda promotes hygiene and sanitation by teaching children methods of infection prevention.
Awareness Campaigns
Soul of Rwanda helps campaign against all forms of violence, drugs, and the spread of communicable diseases.
Provision of Resources
One of the goals of Soul of Rwanda is to increase awareness about local services offered by the state.
